After several years of consideration and planning, the leadership team with Cory’s Kitchen Food Pantry chose to retire, relinquish their role and merge the operation with Shepherd’s Pantry. As of June 1, 2019, Cory’s Kitchen became a Shepherd’s Pantry site. We are proud of the service that we provide you and plan to maintain that commitment. Services and programs vary from location to location, depending on facility and volunteer constraints.
On June 8, 2019 the community came together and celebrated the merging of pantries. Representatives from the state assembly and state senate were present along with the City of Irwindale and Glendora. Pastor Wayne Leamons celebrated his retirement with appreciation given to some important board members, donors and volunteers who made 22 years of operation a large success.
Shepherd’s Pantry has some large shoes to fill as it continues this legacy of providing physical and spiritual food to those hurting in the East San Gabriel Valley. Currently there were 2 pantry locations which now makes Shepherd’s Pantry a 3 location food pantry. “As the community changes and economic factors continue to challenge our neighbors, we are grateful to be available to provide hope and a helping hand, as our tagline says,” states Craig Cerro, Executive Director.
