What is the cost for this service?
There is no monetary charge for any service we provide. We are here to support our clients and their needs.
What are the qualifications for this service?
Shepherd’s Pantry provides services to those living in Los Angeles County. To register for services, new clients should bring proof of address (driver’s license, household bill) and ID verification for all household members (ID card, passport, medical records, birth certificates, etc.) on their first visit. We accept both physical and digital copies.
Privacy Policy: How is my information used?
Documents are used for verification purposes only. We do not keep copies of IDs or other verification documents.
All information shared is strictly confidential. We will not share your information with other persons/agencies without explicit consent. Information may be shared if clients disclose an intent to harm, or if child/elder abuse is suspected.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Shepherd’s Pantry uses SMS with Zoom to communicate with clients.
How often can you receive food? How often can you receive clothing?
Clients can receive food a total of three (3) times a month from any Shepherd’s Pantry site.
Clients are eligible for clothing vouchers at the Glendora Distribution Center once (1) per their three (3) monthly visits.
Is financial assistance available?
On a case-by-case basis, Shepherd’s Pantry provides financial assistance for the purposes of homeless prevention. Additionally, we provide referrals to other organizations who might be able to better assist our clients.
What food is provided?
Food from Shepherd’s Pantry can include canned and boxed food, fresh produce, dairy and deli products, frozen meat, and bakery items. Due to the wide variety of food we receive (both Donations and LA Regional Food Bank Boxes), we cannot guarantee the exact items on each visit.
Are baby diapers and formula available?
Baby products, such as baby food, diapers, and clothing, are available to clients with verified infant(s) on their account. However, supply is based on donations, so clients should ask to speak with our Case Management Team for more information.
Can special food type requests be made? What if I have an allergy?
Yes, food requests can be made; however, fulfillment is based on availability. Shepherd’s Pantry locations are not guaranteed to be allergy-free, but clients should let a volunteer or staff member know of their food or dietary restrictions.
If two people live together in the same residence, can both apply for food?
Everyone who lives under one address is considered to belong to one household. Whether single, married, family, or friends, one household is one account.
Do you provide food delivery service?
Delivery is available in cases where it is impossible for Clients to travel to our facility (age, disabilities, health limitations, etc.). Delivery is provided locally within a 5-mile radius of the Glendora Distribution Center. To arrange for delivery call our distribution line (626) 852-7801. Requests will be reviewed by our Case Management Team.
