Our Major Milestone Timeline
January 2004: Shepherd's Pantry began as an emergency food delivery service in
Glendora, CA
January 2006: We moved into our present location in Glendora, CA and began providing
walk-in food service, counseling and resource assistance
May 2007: Received our 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exempt status
June 2007: Increased our facility space from 1,200 to 1,800 sq. ft. at same location
- May 2008: Opened clothing store
- June 2008: Received grant from Ludwick Family Foundation to purchase a truck
November 2008: Increased our total facility space from 1,800 to 4,200 sq. ft. at same location
- January 15, 2009: Started Thursday service for new clients only - returning clients will continue to be
served on Wednesdays only
Important Notes
*We served 9,353 people in 2008; 96% increase over 2007
*We serve the cities of Azusa, Covina, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, La Puente, La Verne, San Dimas & West Covina, California
*We are open for walk-in service every Wednesday (52 weeks a year) and Thursday (starting 1/15/09 new clients only) from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm - rain or shine
